A Marwari Jeweller constructed Mandawa Haveli for his family in the 18th century. It was bought in 1984 by the present owner Mr. Dinesh Dhabhai and his family.

In the Haveli they operated a tiny handicraft store between 1984 and 1990. Many of the visitors who came in suggested turning it into a hotel. Mr. Dinesh decided to do so and he opened a luxury hotel in Mandawa with just one room after another nine years of refurbishment and repair, employing local Shekhawati craftsmen.
